Pierre Paquin a fondé Scienceinfuse en 2011 dans le but de mieux faire connaître les sciences aux élèves du primaire et de partager son enthousiasme délirant pour les petites bestioles, les cavernes et les autres facettes surprenantes des sciences de la vie et de la terre.
Pierre est plus qu’un animateur: il est celui qui pense, conçoit et réalise chacune des animations et activités de Scienceinfuse; il peut compter sur une solide expérience de chercheur et de communicateur, comme les lignes qui suivent le démontrent. Pierre est un arachnologue chevronné qui a publié des articles scientifiques sur les araignées mais aussi en entomologie, en écologie, en biospéléologie, en taxonomie et en systématique. Il est reconnu internationalement pour ses travaux sur les araignées du Québec, du Canada, de l’Amérique du Nord et de la Nouvelle-Zélande. Pierre possède une expertise sur les invertébrés des cavernes et les questions qui demandent la combinaison d’approches moléculaires (ADN) et morphologiques pour la conservation d’espèces menacées d’extinction.
Depuis trois ans, l’animation pour les élèves du primaire (et du secondaire) occupe la plus grande partie de son temps.
